Don't Marry Her by The Beautiful South
Dear Meredith,
Tuesdays have become dedicated machine knitting day. Over the rasping of the machines, we can just hear the radio. No highbrow BBC Radio 4 or NPR streamed chat, we're listening to the cheesy golden oldies stations. This song came on. It mentions San Francisco, but more importantly, see if you can catch the knitting reference...
There is an uncensored version out there, but since the quality of the video was a little blurry and the mention of knitting needles didn't get any more explicit, I am sticking with the version fit for air.

Red Hat on the 302 Bus
Dear Meredith,
I saw this hand knitted hat on my bus ride down to Kensal Rise Station yesterday morning. I like the orangey red and the way it is knitted sideways, not up or down (and the way it matches the upholstery). I've been thinking of red ribbed hats since visiting you and spotting a fair amount of Brooklyn hipsters wearing them - a little Steve Zissou-ish, without the turned up brim. It's another pattern I am plotting. Maybe a very plain and simple one for the 'classic' loving types, then one with a twist for those who believe there's no point knitting something you could that easily buy off the peg.
I like the way these hats become part of a 'Once Seen' in the Lonely Hearts Column of my mind.
GSOH a must!
